Subject: Why did you ignore THESE men

Dear sirs,
Every year in January, for weeks on end,we hear all sorts of stories extolling the virtues of Martin Luther King. I personally do not admire King, but hey, some folks do. That's fine, that's their right.
I on the other hand, as a student of history, a Southern man and a Christian, hold in high esteem men such as Robert E. Lee and "Stonewall" Jackson. This year, January 19th, marked the 200th birthday of Robert E. Lee, this being such a major landmark, several Southern states, counties and cities have proclaimed 2007 as "The Year of Lee". Numerous festivals were scheduled to commemorate this anniversary. I had emailed a news story about this anniversary to your "news tips" email address, and yet I heard no mention, whatsoever. I have to wonder why the censorship? Is it hatred of Southerners? Or pandering to a minority audience? Or what? If you would be so kind, I would really like an answer.
I keep hearing Scott Couch talking about "giving us both sides of the stories", well that surely is NOT the case here.
Sincerely,
Joseph Gresham
My legitimate inquiry was answered by this pitiful, patronizing response.
Thank you for your note.
It presents a fresh and interesting perspective.
Scott and I discussed your email on Monday.  We may do a story on it.
I would not read more into it other than we have been very busy.
