Here's a homegrown Kentucky boy in Iraq,
whose tired of the Yankee lie about Kentucky
This is a paraphrased compilation of emails we received from a soldier in Iraq. He was proud to find our article about Kentucky and the C.S.A.
At first he was reluctant about posting his picture, but I talked him into it.
Pray for our Southern boys in harm's way all over the world, whether the call is righteous or not, they are, as Southern men have always done, answering the call, and bravely doing what is being asked of them.

God bless you (name deleted for security reasons) and all of your fellow service men and women....be safe!

Dear Mr. Gresham,
My name is (name deleted for security reasons) and I am currently serving my country in Iraq. I have been here about eight months now and I am ready to come home. I came across the article you wrote about "Do you sing praises for Lincoln". I thought it was great. I grew up in Russellville, Ky and never knew that anyone would ever consider me a Yankee, until I moved to Alabama about 3 years ago. I get into arguments all the time with people about whether or not Kentucky was a Southern state, and to be honest it just makes my blood boil. You know I always tell them Alabama boys " well if that's the case then the president of your beloved confederacy was a yankee." Speaking of Jefferson Davis, as you know he was born in Fairview. That usually gets em.

I am so proud to be born in the South and be a part of her values and ethics. Sometimes I feel like this world is going crazy and that the South is the final refuge, a place where you are expected to do the right thing. Now that's something to be proud of. Being a true "child of the South" is not about location, but a state of mind. To close, the next time I get in that argument I'll just give them this to read. Thank you sir and God Bless.

Thank you for replying to my email and you more than have permission to post it on the site. If you do let me know so I can show it off the my fellow soldiers. That would be too cool. I really enjoy the website. Thanks again.
Take care brother !!
