Kentucky's Two Year Eclipse

The government of the satellite Commonwealth of Kentucky, in their continued efforts to both deify Lincoln and diminish our noble and righteous Confederate history, have created a two year long eclipse. An eclipse of true history, in favor of revisionist lies.

The greatest Kentuckian to become an American President, Jefferson Finis Davis, was born on June 3, 1808, (200 years ago THIS year) in what is now known as Fairview, Kentucky. But Jefferson Davis' greatness and distinction was not attained by becoming "president", his was a life of greatness, and service.

To start with, Jefferson Finis Davis was a devout Christian man, who lived as such throughout his life.

Davis studied at Transylvania College in Lexington, Kentucky and later he attended the u.S. Military Academy at West Point, and graduated among the top in his class. He served in the Black Hawk War.

In June of 1835, First Lieutenant Davis married the daughter of Colonel Zachary Taylor (the future u.S. President), and he resigned his commission moved to Mississippi, to farm and start a family. Tragically, sudden illness struck his bride and she only lived a few months.

In 1845, he was elected as a u.S. Representative from Mississippi, and took his seat in Congress. A seat he would resign only a few months later to raise a regiment and serve in the Mexican War. Colonel Davis served heroically in that war and won high acclaim for his gallantry and leadership at Buena Vista. President Polk offered him an appointment to Brigadier General, which Davis refused to accept, because it was unconstitutional.

When Davis returned to Mississippi the Governor asked him to fill a vacant seat in the u.S. Senate, which he did. He was later unanimously elected, then re-elected to that same seat. He chaired the Senate Committee on Military Affairs.

Jefferson Davis served in President Franklin Pierce's cabinet as Secretary of War. In this role he was extremely effective and he implemented many major changes, to improve weapons, ammunition, regulations, tactics, coastal and inland defenses and even frontier exploration.

In 1857, Davis returned to the u.S. Senate, where he served until Mississippi voted to secede in 1861. Twelve days later he gave his "Farewell to the Senate" speech and eloquently resigned his seat.

Jefferson Davis was "drafted" as the provisional President of the Confederate States of America, and later elected as President. Again he served with distinction, leading his country under extremely difficult circumstances and conditions. His task was beyond daunting and his performance was exemplary.

Jefferson Finis Davis, spent virtually his entire life in the service of God and country.

Contrast that to the life of Lincoln, born in 1809 (200 years ago NEXT year), a sleazy trial lawyer who spoke out of both sides of his mouth and had no regard for the Constitution. He waged illegal war, arrested and imprisoned the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court for disagreeing with him, ordered an entire tribe of American Indians annihilated, because they requested payment of a long overdue, legitimate debt owed them. Aside from his vicious and criminal war against the Confederacy, he imprisoned thousands of American citizens IN THE NORTH, without benefit of trial or even being charged with a crime. In short, he brought success to the Marxist revolution, which had failed in Europe. He destroyed our Constitutional republic, and gave us the American Empire.

But THAT is the man the Commie-wealth of Kentucky wishes to recognize. They want to not only recognize him, but do so for two full years, so that they can eclipse  the bicentennial of the birth of Jefferson Finis Davis, who as I previously stated was born 200 years ago THIS year. Jeff Davis, truly a giant among men, or Lincoln, truly slime among slime. Which do you think is worthy of honor and recognition?
