Maybe I'm a Bit Picky

I don't think it's too much to ask, to want to live in a decent Christian place like my ancestors.  I don't want to live just anywhere, I want to live in the Confederate States of America.  And no, I won't settle for a "New Southern Nation".I want the old one.  Now of course there are a very small number of laws that will need changing (ie; voting rights etc. for women and blacks) but all in all, the CSA was right on target.  The Constitution was basically an updated u.S. Constitution, where the 'Bill of Rights" was incorporated into the body of the text.

I want my country to be proud to acknowledge God as our ultimate authority and giver of all liberty and blessings.  I don't want a "theocracy", that is contradictory to freedom, but I do want to be able to freely express my religious beliefs, when and wherever I choose.

I want my representatives to be "statesmen" not politicians looking to fatten their pockets and those of their backers through the unfair taxes and dealings of the government.  Speaking of taxes, I don't want to work half of the year to pay "my tax bill", I don't know about anyone else, but that's slavery in my book.

I don't want to finance and perpetuate slothfulness, illegitimacy or dependence through welfare and other handout programs, whether to benefit the private or corporate recipient.

I don't want to support in either taxes or blood the prosecution of war for the purpose of outrageous profits.  If attacked, of course, fight and fight with all we have, but to start with, let's secure our borders from invasion.

I want my country to leave issues of education to the parents, their local community and church to decide, as well as issues regarding parenting (discipline, etc.) where they belong.

I don't want my country to decide what sort of guns I can own or where I can carry them, it's none of their business.

I don't want my country to tell me who I must hire or do business with, if I want to only serve the oriental community, that's my decision to make.

I just happen to be from tobacco country, my family has raised it for many generations. Tobacco money has bought a lot of clothes for many in my lineage.  I don't want my country to tell me that I can't smoke.  If a particular business wants a non smoking facility, fine, I can take my business elsewhere if I wish.  That's his and my decision to make, not governments.

I don't want my government to create and assist monopolized medicine, which causes costs of medicine and treatment to skyrocket, and often times prevents effective treatment from being made available.

I don't want my country to allow endless volumes of legislation to be enacted each year, or to allow black robed tyrants to legislate from the bench.

I want my servants to recognize that they are servants, not dictators, I want no career politicians.  I don't want representatives to be paid like they were CEO's of a Fortune 500 corporation.pay them a fair wage, and that's it.

I don't want government "officials" deciding for me to be benevolent, with MY MONEY.  I'm perfectly capable to decide for myself if I wish to assist the tsunami victims, or not.

I sure don't want anybody to tell me I can't honor my ancestor's memory by flying a flag or displaying any symbol of my choosing.

I don't want my country to tell me how to use my land, or what can be grown on it, ..note the key word"MY" land !

A "New Southern Nation" that is not the CSA, one that is a virtual clone of the DC empire, with a little Southern flavor, and maybe a cloak of religion, such as is being advocated by certain groups is not for me!

My country, the CSA legally still exists, we don't need to secede, we already have!
We have been recognized by several foreign nations, we are simply an occupied country.

Maybe I'm a bit picky, but when it comes right down to it, I don't want just any "Southern Nation." I want the Confederate States of America, nothing else will do.
